For candidates

A partner for your whole career.

  • We take the time to listen and understand your career aspirations, short and long term.
  • We give tailored, honest advice on the right career move for you, not just the next role.
  • We introduce you to firms we know well.
  • We prepare you for every interview and stay with you through the offer.

For clients

A partner for every hire.

  • We share market intelligence and benchmarking, including who the players are and what peers are paying.
  • We communicate openly at every stage, so you always know where a search stands.
  • We vet candidates in depth, well beyond a resume screen.
  • We work on a contingency, retained or contained basis, depending on what fits the role.

For founders and emerging managers

Building your team from the first hire.

We work directly with firm founders and partner with them for the long term. The first non-investment hire determines how the firm's back office is built and scales.

Many founders start with an outsourced CFO or fund administrator. When it is time to bring the back-office function in-house, we help you make that first hire the right one. We stay involved at each new stage and grow with you.

We help founders define the role, determine the right level and pay, and ultimately hire the best person.

Get the first hire right

The AI transition

Finance teams are changing.

Most finance teams use AI now, but few have the people to get full value from it. We help firms rethink who they hire and what those people do.

Roles that are changing

As workflows are automated, the work gets done faster and the focus shifts to analysis and judgment. Existing roles now call for different skills. We help firms define what each role should be before the search begins.

Advice on what to hire for

We tell firms what we are seeing in the market, including how other teams are changing and which skills matter. We tell candidates which skills to build.

How we vet

We ask every firm how its team uses AI today, and every candidate what they have automated and which tools they've used. A line about AI on a resume, or in a job description, is not enough.
